The lead gasket of the sediment bowl is out of stock everywhere for some time now. Is there an alternative to it which I can use?

You might cut one from a sheet of thin lead that is made for roof flashings.

Excellent advice Pat. I use a box knife for this. Be sure to make the hole first, Rough cut the OD larger than needed, fit the washer and outlet, then trim the OD in place. Otherwise it is very hard to stop things stretching to make a loose fit in the pumpkin body.

In a pinch you can take Teflon tape ( a lot of it ) fold it over several times then spin it into a cord, Wrap it around many times, hold the ends
and tighten it up. Maybe we should start practicing soldering solder to make sealing rings?

This might a good alternative for a lead gasket for the sediment bulb. I didn’t know solid lead wire is sold as fishing line! Amazon has it in a roll of 3/16”. Wrap it around the screw n connection, overlap a little. Tighten it up and cut off the overhang.

John, I think that lead is used to add weight around lines without altering whatever bottom in in use. The same stuff can be used to wrap around the spokes when balancing wire wheels.
