I'm sure this question has been asked 1M+ times but could someone send me to the instructions on adding pictures to postings?

This is how I do it - Below the message text box are two tabs, "options" and "attachments". Click on the "attachments" tab and a box will appear that says "add files". Click on the box and another box will open showing files in your pc's picture folder. Navigate as required, then click on the picture that you want to add. There is a limit of five pictures per post. There is also a file size limit, but I don't remember what it is. :)

Thank you!

The file size limit is low. Super low. I tired a simple PDF and no go.

I think there is some process that involves adding pictures to my Gallery and then referencing these pictures through the image tool. I think it is a two step process.

Gerald,

It is simpler than that. Most pictures posted here are .jpg format and you can add files bigger than 1MB. Open the "attachments" tab in the lower part of the message editor, pick "add files", select a picture on your computer and hit "open". The file name and size will be displayed in the "attachments tab. Press "preview" and you can see if it worked before you hit "submit". This file was 716KB but the editor "magically" adjusted the size to 332KB.

edit: this is basically what Mark posted above. ;)

Keep crankin'
Eric

Cudaman has it right. That’s what I do and works just like his instructions. Add one picture at a time. When it doesn’t take first the first time go back to your picture file. Click on the picture and you should get some prompts such as edit, trash, and delete when you click on your picture. Click on edit and you should get the edit prompts. Mine has a few and I use alter image or somthing like that.

Once you do it a few times with your pictures it’s nothing to it. If I can do it anybody can!
When shrinking down a picture or more than one I just shrink them down when I resize it. You don’t count the file size or anything like that. Just drag you finger across the screen to shrink it and that’s it.

Interesting. When I do it I have to continue a couple more steps than Mark does.

After I click on the picture I want I have to open it. This places it in a box below the 'Add Files' box. Way over on the right if my picture was accepted you see a green status button. If it is yellow, it was not accepted. If I try a vertical picture it will always be rejected, but I do not know why. Only horizontal shots are accepted. Then I have to click on 'Place Inline' and a code shows up inside my post. You can continue to add pictures or you can hit enter so it drops below the code and you can add a caption.

That is unique. I did not add this picture, but it showed up anyway. It is a Buffalo Hill in Havre, MT where the locals drove the buffalo over the cliff.

If your original photo file is so large that it's rejected, keep it for possible future uses. MAKE A COPY of it and reduce that. Often, reducing the size by only a few pixels (under 5) is enough reduction for the copy to be posted, even if it's bigger than what the system tells you.
