"No thief ever attempted to steal a car with a man at the wheel."
Oh, how times have changed.

Along comes the beat cop, who says, "Hey, bub! You can't park that pile of tin here!"
When no response is forthcoming, the situation escalates....

Now days it's called carjacking & they look for a car with a driver just in case it has a manual transmission that they can't drive! That's why you can leave the key in your T & it won't be stolen but the Motometer will!

Nowadays, the rubber man would be used to drive in the high occupancy lane.

Similar to the Safe-T-Man dummy that was marketed circa late 1980s/early 1990s.

The original idea was women who drove alone could put it in the passenger seat of their car.

An employee of the company where I worked was ticketed when he was caught driving in the carpool lane with a Safe-T-Man in the passenger seat.
