Walden Worcester wrenches

Post by GregDeK » Sat Aug 30, 2025 2:39 pm

Hello, all,

I seem to be gathering a pile of Walden Worcester wrenches and the thought of displaying them as they would have been at a dealer’s agency in the ‘teens. Anyone have a good display board that could provide a picture, size - or, (gasp) an extra original to part with?

Greg

Think it would be more likely that a Ford dealer would be showing Z tools or maybe KRW not Walden. I think Walden would have been sold by non Ford parts dealers or hardware stores.

You are probably correct about Ford dealers not selling them. I’ve seen pictures of boards, and the MTFCA museum had a board with ones I presume were T specific. That’s kind of what got me started on this. Went to the museum on the way to the Tri State Gas Engine & Tractor show a couple of weeks ago. Saw the display there and it started me thinking about a few I had lying around. Then found a few more at the swap meet. And then found a list of T specific ones in a Dykes Encyclopedia. Then decided I need to put together a set. Then, … - you get the idea, lol.

Many tool manufacturers made Ford specific tools as part of their general offering of mechanics' wrenches, sockets etc. Waldren Worcester, Mossberg, Blackhawk and others were al active in the market.

Quite possible a Ford service agent, Ford dealer, or other agency would have parts sales room that displayed Walden Worcester tools.

Note this detail from a Ford dealer parts counter, see the display and the listing of the tools, perhaps these are Walden Worcester tools.

Display panel and a larger wood display with Walden Worcester Ford car tools avail to agents.

This close up of an original Walden Worcester wood display shows a listing a bit similar to the pasted list on the Ford sales counter back wall with wrench display.

Thanks to all who responded. Model Ts are a rabbit hole of sorts, you get a car, that leads to another. You get a tool, that leads to another. A neat accessory, that leads to, well... LOL

and thanks Dan for posting those photos. :)
While I don't collect tools except, except my collection seems to grow. I don't display them; they are in my "T" repair toolboxes and use them.
