Good way to store the hood?

Post by JZSlenker » Sun Sep 28, 2025 1:55 pm

I searched the forum but didn’t come up with much. Does anyone have a slick way to store the hood when it’s removed for maintenance or repairs? I’d rather not have to disassemble it but also don’t have the room to just sit it on edge on the floor.

I place it folded, lying on towels, on the rear seat of the touring.

I have one in the rafters with my prized non rusted Cheby 60s front fenders.

I drape it over a folding plastic saw horse. Saw horse folds flat when not in use.

I stand it upright on the firewall end folded like a W. Always a good time to lube the hinge rods

I place it sitting verticallly on a piece of carpet, or cardboard, or even grass. Folding it in a sort of "W" configuration.
