A type of removable band ear I've never seen
I pulled these bands out of a buddies car while doing a clutch repair. I've never seen these and don't really like the way they seem to fit. Reluctant to re-use them... thoughts?

Re: A type of removable band ear I've never seen
They are a neat modification on non demount-able OEM bands.
Rather ingenious. in fact they are easier to re-install than the oem slotted type.
The ear gets placed on the T post @ an angle & gets rotated into position.
You may need to do some bending to the end for the ear to snap in over the post in tension,
just as is done on later demount-able band ear tabs onto the band.
The ear should not wiggle when installed.

That's your first post here?plonkarchivist wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 11:41 pmYou might have to bend the end slightly for the ear to snap over the post under tension, similar to what is done with later demountable band ear tabs onto the band.

Those bands are good wall hangers and conversation pieces. Use the real thing.
