Hi all, by what method does a Model Ter bend the tabs of the stake-washers on the Bendix? I find it very awkward and difficult to get to.

Re: Bendix bending the stake washers?
I always resort to channel-loc pliers for this job. Roll the tab down as you squeeze... easy work!

First of all, you have to have the bendix out of the car!

Re: Bendix bending the stake washers?
You have to bend the tab for the outside screw with the Bendix in the car no matter what, the inner one can be done outside. The replacements are harder then originals so do take a little more work. I use vice grips and kinda rock them into place then squeeze them up tight to the flat.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Normally a little starting bend with single slot screwdriver blade, levered against the spring loop.
Finish the flattened bend against the Bendix bolt with narrow width angle jaw 10" slip joint (Channel Lok) pliers, opposite jaw on backside of bolt.
