Old Photo-Listening to the World Series 1926
I found this site while looking for something or other. It has some nice shots:
Early Los Angeles City Views (1925 +)

When did I do that?

Neat pic! I remember my classmates in grade school in 1967 sneaking pocket AM radios into class and running the earphone wire up under their shirts so that they could listen to the Cardinal World Series games without the teacher couldn't seeing it.

Mark, I did the same thing. Bob Gibson was my idol. He lived just a few blocks from us.

Thanks for posting.
My mom told me we lived a few blocks from where that picture was taken when I was still in diapers. Maybe Norm Kling knows of that store.
Go Dodgers
Oh wait O Malley brought em there in 58

Mark, I know what you mean. I was listening to the Red Sox game at the same time!

Re: Old Photo-Listening to the World Series 1926
I suspect that picture was taken in Glendale. That Blvd ran all the way from Los Angeles to San Fernando. It was the old US highway 99. It went through Burbank, but Burbank was not that well developed that early in time. Most of the way the road followed the railroad tracks of the Southern Pacific. If it were Glendale that location would have been about 3 blocks south of Broadway. Somewhere near Colorado blvd.
