I wonder how many T guys are in the dark about using original valve stems. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of talking with a well know tire guy, and he was totally in the dark about how those early valve stems are mounted to the tubes!
The best information I've seen is from the Model A clubs. Those guys really get in there and do their research.

I don't know, Larry, but I've got five 2 1/4" metal stems that I cut from old tubes, and advertised on the Forum; no takers.

Schrader 777 is the stem that Ford used. But none of the repop covers are made to fit them. All the metal stem tubes currently available use the larger size (Schrader 724 & 725), so the available new hardware is made to fit those. I'm cheap enough to buy rubber-stem Hartford tubes and install my own metal stems.
