a club idea

Post by Waldo » Wed Mar 17, 2021 6:05 pm

I am president of the local Model T Club. An idea I would like to pass along. Model T owners for the most part tend to be in the older age group. I have one member in the club who is close to 80 years old in the club. He has had some minor health issues, and is terrified of the Covid. A couple of Sundays ago, we had a "Beer With Barney". It was a success. Nine members showed up at Barney's house at 3:00 on a very pleasant Sunday afternoon ,and we sat in his garage and enjoyed our favorite beverage (brought our own), comradery, and BS sitting in his garage. We had 2 Model T's show up (mine was one of them), a 21 touring , and a 26 roadster pick up. We also had a 73 Triumph TR6, one original owner show up. I plan to repeat this in a week or so with another member, also 80 plus, who is suffering from Macular Degeneration. Don has 2 very nice totally finished model Ts now up for sale, as he no longer can drive them.
It is fun for all, and I plan to make this a monthly event somewhere through the nice weather

Sounds like an enjoyable day. It would be nice to just visit and get to know others in the club.
