Roadster versus Roadster pickup bodies
From what I have seen the 26-27 roadster had a metal floor under the turtle deck . Did the 26-27 roadster pickup also have that metal floor under the wooden floor in the bed? My 26 body came out of a pasture and I believe it was a roadster and I found a pickup bed as I had no turtle for it. It has rust out behind the body in the sides about 2 1/2 + or -that run lengthwise below where the turtle set and a metal floor. Were these sides on the pickups also? If I were to build a wooden box for it , would those pieces be needed? My metal box needs work and the right top has had something dropped across it and bent it down a little. Thanks

The metal panel was attached to the sub rails in ‘26. ‘27 had open sub rails and the trunk floor was attached to the turtle deck. I have never had a pickup... but I have no reason to suspect that Henry would produce separate variants for the 2 cheapest models of car

By eliminating the metal floor it would have been a cost saving where the pickup had a wood floor in the bed. Does anyone make the side rails?
