OT, ID a Maxwell front axle

Post by clayton swanson » Wed Jun 25, 2025 1:45 pm

I know there are some brass era folks here, can anyone ID this axle? I had an 09, axle tube was straight, and later I think they went to an I beam, so this one with a curved axle tube would be from what? Thanks, Clayton

Looks like a Model Q axle? The big “Brass Bar Radiator” car?

Looked at a few, the Model E and G 30HP fours seemed to have straight tube axles, as did the little AA. So my guess is Model Q, the 22hp four.

Thanks, that was quick!!! I looked at a few on the net and yes, 1910 model Q Looks like it. Was the Q only made one year? All references seem to be 1910. Now, who needs it !
