A mate is looking to get a 1915 engine block and fitted crankshaft from Tulare {Bakersfield proxy] Swap meet to somewhere closer to the eastern bay area, Richmond, in San Francisco for shipping to Australia. We can help with some gas charges, but would like to get it somewhat closer so courier charges will be more reasonable. Anyone going to Tulare?

Allan, I know some guys from here that will be there. Did you have a preference to the bay area? I didn't see any responses yet?

Allan, make sure your mate knows the condition of the block before committing, freeze cracks are a big problem.

Re: Transport for an engine block
Gene, the shipper is in Richmond in the east bay area, so we are just looking to get it there or at least within courier range, so the transport costs are doable. Trying to do this from afar is a challenge. Your area is easier at your end, but the stuff goes into Melbourne, adding some 5-600 miles at this end. That may be an option worth exploring.
Yours is the first response Gene. Hope it is not the last.
Frank, the block is for a USA LHD car which has repaired freeze cracks. This one is a sound spare and just one month away in casting date.

Re: Transport for an engine block
Allan- send me an e-mail. We are 20 minutes from Richmond and will be at Tulare. We're usually full up, but just realized we are delivering 3 cranks and a trans so we should have room for a block coming back. Dan
