While checking on a Model T in the 2nd Rallye de Monte Carlo (actually called Rallye de Monaco the first few years), I came across this rally. It seems Henri Depasse, the Ford agent for France wasn't afraid to compete with his stock T's as well as the Ford Special sent from Detroit.
In April, 1912, Depasse and his T were among three first place finishers in an endurance run, beginning and ending in Algiers:
A little perspective:
Like Paul Harvey, the rest of the story:
With agents like Depasse and a good product it's easy to see why Model T put the world on wheels. A REO and two EMF finished with penalty(s).

Henry had a good one with the model T! Tough, spry, excellent power to weight ratio. Thanks Rob for a look at another great showing by the T model!
