Rocky Mountain Brake pedal Problems

Post by VinTin23 » Mon Aug 09, 2021 8:07 am

I have a 1924 Roadster with 1924 Engine, 26/27 Transmission, cover and large drum rear end. The previous owner had installed an aftermarket 26/27 Pedal with Rocky Mountain Brake extension as part of the pedal. Lang’s sells this pedal as PN RMB-PED4. Car has been sitting for 25+ years so pedal is probably close to 30 years old.

I have correct large drum kit and everything went together fine until you attach the EZ Adjust sliding Clovis. The Clevis will not attach from pedal to equalizer. The neutral shaft boss on hogs head is in the way.

The weld on tang instructions with the kit say to have a 2.25 distance from center shaft to clevis hole. My pre-Fab pedal measures 2.50 from center shaft to clevis hole.

Now I understand that this is my problem, my aftermarket pedal tang is too long. But I think this is an early reproduction and may have been corrected over time.

My questions is. Has anyone else had this problem and what was your solution. Does anyone have a new production pedal that they could measure the distance between center shaft and clevis.

Thanks

I have a repro RM pedal on my fordor and its the same 2.5 inches. Clears that shaft by very little, but does clear it.
