Carburetor Identification

Post by Devon » Fri Aug 13, 2021 5:20 pm

Hello all! I recently acquired my first Model T, a beautiful 1926 Roadster. I don't recognize the carburetor or know anything about it. Does anyone recognize what it might be? Thanks!

Pretty sure it's off a Kohler or similar lawn tractor engine.

Definitely a much more modern carburetor than was available in “the day”....
But I just have to ask, how’s it run ? :)

Keep looking and you're likely to find a fuel pump, too.

welcome to the affliction!

Well that is certainly not the answer I was expecting. Thanks everyone for the info, I'll certainly be switching it out!

No fuel pump needed for the "Improved" model with cowl tank.

Steve...even with a Walbro?

I've only seen a couple of them and I know they needed the pump...neither was an improved car, but I'd expect that the float valve is so small that it wouldn't likely perform well without one even with the tank mounted higher. With so little experience with them, I'm quite possibly wrong, but I've never heard or read of one performing on a T without help.

That's probable - never had one to play with.
