1926-27 brake drum and lug shoes

Post by dykker5502 » Mon Aug 16, 2021 7:30 am

I just found out that the wide brake drum I have in one of my transmission does not have the lug shoes! I am pretty sure that this is not a later aftermarket drum as it was restored last around 1970 and we just did not buy new parts from the US vendors (only Snyders was known over here) as it was pretty complicated and a lengthy process. And good usef parts where around.
So was there a short period where the wider drums was made without the lug shoes?

Come across a few in Canadian T's, no lug shoes in wide drum T709B.

In 1926, Ford offered a narrow drum with shoes. It is in the service bulletins.
