Michigan Jamboree Day 1

Post by TWrenn » Thu Aug 26, 2021 5:22 pm

First day on the Michigan Jamboree was great. Perfect weather, good roads, lunch along the bay near the "tip of the thumb", temperature perfect. Got a little bitter toward the last 15 miles back to the hotel but I left the top down!!
Saw some great sites like the Octagon barn, several parks, always a good donut stop at a city park, getting ready for quick salad supper before the evening bonfire and ice cream social right behind where our trailers are parked. Hope you enjoy the pics.

These 2 guys loved Clara and the other cars. Especially the lamps and the crank starting.

Stone road! Only quarter mile to the arboretum, so not bad.

Never been on such smooth non paved roads ever! Don't see how this group is going to top today's weather and driving the rest of the week! Fabulous!

Time for ice cream, comraderie, mini-swap meet, and a small bonfire. Temperature is great and the humidity is dropping. Tomorrow's rain chance diminished so should be great touring.

You're welcome Jack. Wish you were here too along with others we know. And now we culminate the evening with a nice little bonfire. Perfect ending to a perfect day. Nighty night! :D

I should point out the ice cream maker was powered by a Model T. Today we’re at the tip of the Thumb, currently eating brats and pulled pork in the shadow of the Pte Aux Barques lighthouse. So far folks seem to be having a good time.

Thanks Tim! I neglected to point that out. Yep, good day today despite rain. Lics to follow in a new thread.
