CLEAN REAR WINDOW IN CONVERTIBLE TOP
Hi Everybody!! I need to clean the small plastic windows in my touring car top. Is there a product that works or a technique you've used that works well? Thank you.

Avoid any product that contains ammonia. I have used a product called Sprayway glass cleaner on motorcycle windshields with no problems.

John, the recommendations may vary depending on whether you have rigid plastic like Lexan, or soft pliable plastic like side curtains.

Use this stuff. I first used it 30 years ago on the plastic windshield of a Cessna 152 when I was a student pilot.... today I always have a can around for my eyeglasses, cell phone screen, and my model t windshield. Anything glass or plastic.

At a previous company I worked for we sold industrial plastics. There were 2 products we sold for in particular for clear plastics especially acrylic and polycarbonate and vinyl.
Brillianize www.brillianize.com
Novus www.novuspolish.com

Everything works in theory.
Reality is how you determine if something works or not.

Re: CLEAN REAR WINDOW IN CONVERTIBLE TOP
I have repaired top windows in tourings and roadsters with an inexpensive, common aerosol product.
If the window is not discolored, but obscured to the point that is impossible to see through, your remedy is this..... WD-40.
That's right. WD-40. When the polyvinyl oils and solvents start to leach out of the top window, usually due to sun exposure, the window becomes sticky due to the concentrated chemicals on the surface of the window. The sticky oils attract dirt and dust from the surrounding environment. W-D 40 and a soft cloth will dissolve the coating of the shed chemicals and attached dirt and dust.
Spray a small amount on a cloth, and at the same time, spyay a small amount on a portion of the window and let it set for a minute. Then begin to gently wipe the window. The dirt, grime, and oils will come off. This must be done in small sections. Don't attempt to do the whole window all at once.
This will have to be done inside and outside the window.
If the window has begun to turn a reddish pink or brown, the window needs to be replaced.
Hope this helps.
Mike.

I have used the Novus products and they work very well. If your plastic windows are yellowed, or scratched it will do the job.
