Class, here is your assignment: tell us what you did (with your Model T) last summer. Remember, without photos, it didn't happen.

So last year we had a "Virtual Tour" of past years travels in our Model Ts. So now, as some of us are putting the Ts away for winter, how about a recap of your Model T adventures from the past year. Even if you have posted your photos earlier this year, post again, so we can all tour again, as the snow begins to fall:

Here I am, one what might be my last Model T "adventure" of 2021. On Oct 30 I was on my way to a Halloween themed car show at a local strip mall. The photo is totally unremarkable, EXCEPT, I am traveling on an original section of the Lincoln Highway (IL Rt. 31) as it travels through downtown Batavia, IL. True to its Model Highway origins, this section remains two lanes in each direction, and I don't believe it has been appreciably widened since. In fact I don't believe it would be possible for 4 semi trucks to occupy all the lanes at the same time without some paint scrapped. I post this photo knowing you can all do better, so lets revisit your 2021 adventures now!

We attended the July 3 Independence day parade in Coronado, and the Pine Valley Days parade with the Honorary grand marshal's widow and granddaughter (He had died earlier of COVID) We also attended a parade in Descanso, but don't have a picture.
One of our great grandsons and his cousin rode about 1/2 mile in the car, also didn't get a picture. We attended two one day tours.
I also tightened up the windshield. The inner nuts had come loose and even though the outer wing nuts were tight, the windshield would move. Had to loosen one of the posts to get to the inner nuts.

1. Did a couple tours with Dairyland Tin Lizzies.
2. Shorewood 4th of July Parade.
3. New London to New Brighton Run, but I did not take a car with me.
4. Old Car Festival
5. Drove attendees all 5 days at EAA(Experimental Aircraft Assoc)
6. Brought the groom to a wedding and a lot of guests after dinner.
7. Got to have a ride with Dean Yoder.
8. Drove a car to Menards too many times.

After new valves, seats, and rings by Mike Bender, went on Flatland T's local tour that included a visit to the Henry Candy factory in Dexter. My 1915, Verne Shirk's 1914, and Randy Frazer's Model A.

Drove to Michigan for the Old Car Festival. This is on old Route 66 near Lebanon, Missouri.

I kept up my end of the contract to oil the County roads. Put about 5000
miles on the dirt this summer. Did some exciting exploration and saw some
awesome forgotten backcountry. A most wonderful goal met.

I love those photos Steve & Burger.

My outings were split between my T speedster and my A.

With fresh babbitt in the speedster engine I put on about 200 miles on short outings just to get things settled. Feeling good, I did a 450 mile loop of the North Cascades Hwy 9 to Sedro Woolley then Hwy 20 to Winthrop, 20 and 97A to Chelan and then down to Hwy 2 to Leavenworth and back home.

My main tour was to join a Ryan Ramble HCCA tour out of Orangevale, CA. It seemed like a good idea to drive Hwys 101 and 1 from Astoria down to Fort Bragg then mostly back roads to Orangevale. The tour stayed in the Sacramento Delta and hit some nice highlights of the area. Post tour I headed to Bodega Ba and then back up Hwy 1 and 101, detour through the Avenue of Giants, and on to Tillamook, Oregon and inland back home. Overall it was 11 days and a little over 2,300 miles in the speedster enjoying some great scenery. If/when I do it again I will take a few more days to slow the pace and invite a few other folks to join in with their cars. Maybe they could take some photos,I'm terrible at that.

I did a few local shows and cruises. Took a 100 mile trip down highway 61. Before interstate 55, hwy 61 was a major north south highway. If you look at the cities it goes through, you'll understand why they called it the Avenue of the Saints.

US highways and former US highways that parallel interstates are often great for Model T travel, with little or no traffic.

Yes! Very little traffic. Even though it was safe for them to pass, some just follow at a safe distance, appearing to enjoy the view.

Attended the National Tour in Spokane - ours is the red '14 Touring.

This year was the year of driving the 24 Coupe.
I have been doing some repairs on the 14 Touring and plan to some work on the speedster so this year has been the year of driving the Coupe. It’s been on four week long tours, Joshua Tree, San Francisco, Spokane and Southern Arizona.
The last one was the most challenging as it was progressive with different motels each evening. Some days we did 80 miles andone was 177 mile and a climb to over 7000ft. I’m That day was tough.
The car held up quite well with no breakdowns or trips on the trouble truck though I’ve been busy this last coupe of weeks fixing none day ending problems.
