Like people, the cars long to get away to the desert and bask it the warm sun. Perhaps some dark lenses would give it that Hollywood look.
When did I do that?

The last T died at midnight.... with no porters to be had, and a thousand kilometers to Casablanca, Major Bungalow was in quite a pickle.

I used to have a friend in Nevada that went out into the desert and pickup up T's like that, and hauled them home. At one time, he had a virtual junk yard of Model T's.

Re: Almost,…………..made it home.
Not a desert here in this part of Texas but 45-55 years growing up I could see rusty old cars from time to time in fields around the area riding the school bus. Here in the country the route was pretty long and we would get home with 45 min to an hour. It was fairly common to see remains of T’s and other cars in the T era when going on road trips when school was out.
Those days are long gone and the rusty old cars probably got picked up for scrap and a few hopefully survived to be used for parts or restored.

I believe Lady Bird Johnson’s clean up campaign here in Texas decades ago made a lot of old iron dissapear…
