Randall Anderson

Randall called me this morning, and he is out of commission for awhile due to effects from a covid booster shot he got. They are supposed to ask you if you have any inflamation anywhere, and failed to do so. He wound up in emergency, and is not going to be able to get orders out anytime soon.

Get better soon R.V. !

I got the J&J as my first shot. The nurse said to expect a big reaction, but it turned out to be no big deal, all I felt was some warmness in the affected arm for half a day.

Three months later, I got the Moderna as a booster shot. I spent the next day in bed with a mild fever and aches, but it cleared up after then. :)

Get well soon RV.

Anyone getting a shot, first round or booster should look up the thread on here someone posted about what he was told to do to prepare by his daughter nurse.
My first shot kicked my butt. Second shot I followed the advice and had no reaction. Booster shot I skipped the advice and again kicked me.

Anyone I have told about the advice, comes through ok. Not sure why but it seems to work.

I took the advice Dan mentioned as did the missus. No problems with original two Moderna or the booster shot except my arm was a little sore if I bumped the injection site. Regardless, a day or so of discomfort beats covid. I've lost nine friends, former students and acquaintances so far with others fighting the disease right now. If you've followed the news you'll know that Michigan is having a tough time of it right now.

My best wishes to RV....hope he feels better soon.

All I had from the original shots and the booster was a slightly sore spot for a day or two. Like Model T's, people are not all the same.

No Dr. or any science organization has the correct advice as far as effects by the Covid shots. Some people think the way they were effected is how the rest of us will be. That’s not so.
Every one is different to some extent.
My wife and myself had the Covid months ago. I just felt weak for a few days. My wife almost died was but is OK now. We had our shots after we had it with hardly any effects at all other than my wife’s sore arm for a day and that was it.
I hope RV gets better as he is a real asset to the T community. The best for him.

The " Don't Ask; Don't Tell ", policy doesn't apply to COVID vaccine. If someone doesn't ask the right questions and you don't volunteer the information, who's fault is it? Both parties. More people have had the vaccine, even the booster, successfully, than those who have had a problem. At 73, with heart problems and diabetes, I had ZERO problems with all 3 PHIZER shots. All said, Get Well, R.V.: we need you.

I see a name heading up a thread, and I worry a moment about the possible situation. So pleased it is not something worse (seems to be happening a lot lately?).
Still, R. V., we worry about you! Take it easy, do what you need to to get better! Get some rest, then get some exercise. And get BETTER again!

And by the way, Larry S, thank you for letting us know.

.... as I have pointed out numerous times on this forum. In this case, for example, "Randall Anderson Getting Better" would have been less alarming than just the name by itself. I have largely given up the fight, though. :D

Spot on Gentlemen.

This last week there has been a topic “Miller” on this forum.

I sure would have appreciated something descriptive like “Miller cylinder head project update?” Instead.

I just spoke to RV, he is out of commission for a few days at least and maybe a few weeks. He will try to get out to his shop in a few days to communicate with customers. He asks for your patience as he works through this difficult time. He will greatly appreciate your prayers!

Hi everyone! Thanks to Kim and Larry for their posts. As they said, I am almost totally immobile and thus have no access to my shop or my email as I have only a desktop machine. But I am borrowing my daughter's laptop for a moment to check in.

I simply can't thank everyone enough for your kind wishes and prayers. It means more to me than I can express.

I still have no access to my shop. As soon as I can get out there I will begin the long task of replying to my emails and requests for parts and services. I will need help to get out there and am working on a plan--I don't have much else to do--but it will be awhile yet and I plead for patience from all who are awaiting a response.

Rachel needs her 'puter back so signing off for now. If anyone really needs to speak with me you can call my cell at seven one six nine six nine one zero three nine.

Thanks so much again!

All the best,
RV
