What Are These??

Post by BLB27 » Tue Dec 21, 2021 7:49 pm

I am attaching several photos near the door on my 1927 coupe to show small threaded screws that I am puzzled as to what they are for. The first photo shows one that is holding a piece of upholstery. I don't remember others doing that when I removed the upholstery, but probably they were.

I doubt they would be "connecting" the two structural pieces.

I would appreciate comments.

The first pic shows what I call fixed nuts. They are probably for nickle plated brass screws which held the metal widow trim in place. The second pic shows what look like very skinny screws with a thin, flat head. I believe they are a type of tack or nail that held the cardboard door trim panel in place. I doubt they can be re-used.

The new interior will come with plastic barrels to push in the holes and the interior will have the barbed nails in them.
