It appears that when this was made there was attention to detail. Is this in your possession? If so can you get a close up of the front suspension? Also it looks like the seat spring is a transmission clutch spring mounted in a ignition timer! I’d be scared to lean into a turn with it thou. Haha!

Looks real to me. I'm guessing the front suspension used inner tube or leather for springs. A lot of guys would build cycle cars and various go-kart like vehicles from scrap items, and plenty of farmers built tractors, pumps, elevators, etc. out of junk piles

This sure brings back memory’s!! When I was probably 12, I took a Briggs &Stratton washing machine engine (it came from a Speed Queen and had kick pedal start) and installed it on a 26” bicycle frame. I took a rim from a 24” bicycle wheel and hay wired it to the spokes of the back wheel. Removed all the pedal mechanism and installed a support for the engine offset to the right so the pulleys would lineup. Had to make a bit of a belt “tensioner” so the belt on the lower side could clear the frame parts. The left side rear frame got “notched” so that everything would clear. We didn’t have a welding machine, so I took it down to the ESSO garage at Telfordville and Bruno Kirtchner did the welding.
It was push-start. Hand throttle attached to the top of the engine. So give it about half throttle, pull up the choke for couple of rotations. Drop the choke and swing my leg over and I was going! It would do about 20 mph. No brakes so you definitely were a bit careful (well you could rub your shoe on the front wheel for a bit of braking) used it for 4 years. At 16 got my drivers license and sold it to my cousin!!

With the weight of the chassis and and the horsepower of that little Maytag, it would be a really smooth road and a running start to get it moving.
Or, with the reduction really really slow. The Maytag just seems a bit too new for the frame. This opinion and a buck fifty will get you a drink at McDonald's!

The engine looks to be just sitting there, filling the space, so maybe it did have a different engine when it was built with different pulley.
