who solders brass for repairs?

I am looking for someone to solder the brass horn coil hose tot he reed.

Also if they can, to beef up the stem that attaches the horn to the body / door. I have had several of these over the years and they all snap apart.
Do they make a strong horn support ?

If you have a local music shop that repair trumpets and saxophones they could do a nice job for you.

It's not that hard to do yourself really. I've done it before with success. Trouble is with those re-pop horn bulb brackets, they're so small and flimsy at the attachment point you can repair all you want and they still will break. I copied some other guys idea and got rid of the "post" and used a brass bolt & nut and it did the job quite well. Just a though Robert.

The bracket needs silver solder. The tube should have a brass sleeve fit over the broken section to reinforce it, then solder.

What Jerry said- soft solder will not hold the stem on the bracket. Soft solder on the tube should be ok. I had one that would break every time my knee bumped it. Since I silver soldered it, no more issues. Who ever makes these should take note.

These reproduction brackets fail frequently due to the poor joining to the base plate and because the post section is much taller than on the original part and thus is easy to put under bending stress when bumped into. I suggest you shorten the post by half before you silver solder it back to the base. You will have a much better chance of it holding up over time. This is what i do when repairing these reproduction brackets.
