Are short nose ones earlier than the long nose ones or the other way around?

Believe the one on the left is Model A.

The one on the right is correct for all. The left is a close replacement. Better then not, but not quite right. Cant speak to model A usage.

Model A starter shafts are larger diameter than a T. Seems to me T is 1/2”, and A is 5/8”...

Early Model A's with the Abell starter drive had 1/2" shaft. From Oct. 1928 on, the 5/8" Bendix to end of production.

The Bendix drive head for the one on the left is a bit longer than T and uses a different lock bolt depth too, still think one on left is early Model A.
