Dave H. mentioned this article was out in “Model T Times” last month. I’m working on Part 2 now, and thought I’d post this for anyone who may enjoy reading it.
I had the good fortune of finding a relative who knew Frank Kulick, and recalled many specific stories of his time with Ford. Many thanks to the “Times” editor, Natalie, who made sense of my scratchings.

Hi Rob,
That is a great article, I hope to see the second part later in the year.
I find it amazing that at such an early period (1904) in Automobile history that people like Frank Kulick were well versed in the working of an internal combustion motor, so much so they could see problems and how to solve them.
The ability to be educated about them would have been rare at that early time.
Add to that the bravery to get in a vehicle and drive it so hard (and well)
Those early cars were not only a hand full but not always ideally designed to race at high speed and the race tracks would have been suspect also.
That is a great article, I hope to see the second part later in the year.

Thanks guys. I’ve long thought Frank Kulick doesn’t receive his due. He remained loyal to Henry Ford and FMC, staying on at Ford, rising to an executive level office before leaving at the end of the Model T era.
I do think there should be a movie about his life, and relationship with Henry Ford. In part 2 the story will end on a high note. An ending I believe would bring smiles and even a few tears to an audience.
