Missing a part on Stromberg M1 carb

Pictured here is my Stromberg M1 carb. There is a needle screw that is missing, shown in the picture. Does anyone have a spare or know where to go to get this part? I think there is a cover or screw missing on the float chamber also. Tom The needle valve that I need is pictured in this edited post

you're missing the fuel (high speed) adjustment needle. It would look like this:

This part is different in nearly every model. This would not work, but what you need looks very much like it. Always best to buy these things complete whenever possible.

Did you take that exact needle out of a functioning M-1, and from that exact location? As I mentioned in my email, I have never rebuilt an M-1 to be sure, but I am skeptical that this is the exact part you really need but am certainly open to being educated.

I hope that Duey will chime in as I think he has just been working on getting an engine to run with this or similar carb.

Revision/Edit: Having just reviewed the Stromberg M-1 carb drawing in a Dyke's Manual, I stand by my opinion that the needle you are looking for resembles the long needle I initially posted, and the short needle you have shown is NOT the missing needle you are seeking.

Take the float bowl cover off, remove the float, and look down into the corner of the bowl area of the casting...there you will see a very small hole in the bottom of the casting from which the fuel is drawn from the bowl and is thusly metered for flow/richness...and that takes a long and slim needle.

back from the shop. Just took a picture of an OE-1 High Speed Needle for you. An OE-1 is basically an M-1 with the addition of an Acceleration Well. This may not fit your carb, but the needle you're looking for is this, or nearly this. I have no spares but simply wanted to show you what you are looking for...

After looking my carb over a little closer, I find that the needle valve that I need is the longer one, like the one's shown in some of these posts. I measured it to be 2 and 7/8" long.

Until we compare parts lists we can still only speculate parts crossovers but I truly believe we're going to have a few pieces at least and we're slowly making headway in that department.
I've still to pull the trigger on an M series parts list or two to start comaprisons. Thanks to Tim M we have a parts list for the 3/4" OF. OF-1?
Ran to the shop: This pic shows an M-1 earlier version of the high speed needle meant for the flat holding-spring instead of the spring loaded detent balls. This earlier M-1 has the cast brass float bowl cover with a larger float needle cap/cover.
So you're in the ballpark Tom with 2-3/4" long. My earlier vs later statement is up for debate yet.
The correct needle head/top for your M-1 would look like your idle needle with the shorter head like Scott shows us instead of my M-1.

I'm still wondering if a float needle cap/cover on the bowl cover from an OF-1 would fit on some of the M series carbs.
Stamped brass float bowl covers only. Personally, I'd try one of Scott's OF float needle cap for your M-1 Tom.
EDIT: Tom, if you use that carb and need two float bowl cover screws & washers, give me a holler.
