Any thoughts and advice of any potential problems or benefits with this arrangement?

Its a fine carb. May even mix the fuel better than the correct NH. The only disadvantage is it flows less CFM compared to the NH. You might not notice under 50-55 mph. Its easier to get the fuel level perfect. The little copper pickup tube can give fits if split or not in the exact position.

Very nice carb Steve. That is the appearance that I am striving for. I'll have the tire rims brass plated too. Am putting together a 'fake' 1911 Runabout and will install as many brass/bronze parts as I can gather, substitute or make. Not a factory correct match but...what the heck...it will be what it will be...

That carb has no provision for an in-cab choke. If your car has an electric starter, that would be inconvenient. Later G's had an additional arm on the choke lever for that. You could swap out the choke for a later one if need be. If you always use the Armstrong starter when the engine's cold, then it's no problem.
