Closed Cab TT Door Handles

Post by Jeepbone1 » Sun Apr 17, 2022 11:00 pm

Made some progress on the TT tonight. One thing that has plagued me from the beginning is the door handles and latches. My basket case didn’t come with any. I found a set of latches and just have the passenger side to finish. Now on to the handles. I bought the repop rough cast handles from the suppliers. While I’m grateful that said parts are available, it has been a royal pain to get them to the point that they halfway work. Then we get to the point that correct outside escutcheon plates are near impossible to find. I took a chance and ordered the 26-27 closed car door latches and I’ll me darned if they didn’t line right up and fit. Plus they have the escutcheon plates made into them. Looks way better than the “correct” handles too. Forgive the Phillips screws. My slotted stock is running thin.
