Nickle Radiator Shell

Post by BHarper » Sun Apr 24, 2022 12:35 pm

This shell does have a bit of damage, which I will show in the pictures. I took many pictures and will include them in several posts below.
This shell is made of brass and those of you with brazing skills better than mine will be able to repair this shell and then have a fine example.

It makes me wish I had a car to put it on.
I love it.
Rich
When did I do that?

Bill, the damage to your shell is testament to the need for the hood to fit correctly, at least at the front end. A poorly fitted hood will rapidly wear a brass shell if it is allowed to rub on the shell. I have saved one not quite so damaged as yours. It needed parts from a donor shell and a small fortune in 40% silver solder. I am not clever enough to braze thin brass.

Allan from down under.
