My T came with a brand new set of real Firestone whitewalls. I hate them.

The price difference between true whitewalls and blackwalls is substantial....

Yup, some people do. In fact, I must admit, on certain cars, for whatever reason, they sometimes do like nice. Yours may be just one of thoseRuss T Fender wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 3:09 pmI kinda like them.DB3F8457-4CDF-4A97-A0E5-DA72980CA1BA.jpeg

I like all white (before they turn yellow or discolor) on very early Model T’s and all black on later Model T’s. To me, Model T’s just don’t look good with white walls. Jim Patrick

Re: Just a thought: blackwalls to whitewalls
A member who likes whitewalls contacted me asking if I would consider selling my set to him. This was the greatest response that I could hope for. But then I started thinking, and have decided that I will not sell them or even give them away. I checked the tire build dates and found that it was the 24th week of 2008. The tires are in beautiful condition and probably don't have 750 miles on them; they have not spent a single day where the car was not garaged.
As the late Paul Harvey would have said - here's the rest of the story: My T's previous owner bought it not running but in apparently good condition. He immediately replaced the completely shot tires, then decided to get it running. Before he could do so, he developed serious health problems and was not able to work on or drive the T. It sat in his garage for several years until he passed and his estate was probated. He never got to drive the T. I bought it in 2014 with the little nubs still on the unrun tires. I just cannot bring myself to sell a 14 year-old set of tires. I will continue to run them on my T, keeping a close eye on them, but if I sold them and something bad happened I would have trouble living with myself. To the member who made the offer I thank you, but I cannot sell or give them away. I will just have to live with them a while longer.
