Safety wire?
Since these are drilled, are they supposed to be safety wired together?

Wiring them would be a good idea. They have the holes. Adding the safety wire certainly won't hurt anything. Check and see if someone in your club has a set of safety wire pliers. Most airplane mechanics have a set you could probably borrow for the 1 minute it takes to put safety wire in. I still have 2 sets of them in my toolbox from my work on airplanes.

They just need to be stopped from winding out, so all you need is a wire between them to stop this. Maintaining tension with aircraft type twitching is overkill for this application.

It's good to have things wired in, especially things which could get into the crankcase and wreck you magneto or starter ring.

Check your clearances with the bolt heads & clutch fingers. This area is real tight.

I had a 13 customer that had it also. Thats why I mention a caution about clearance checking.
