Is the advise from the past valid?

Every thing I have learned about the quarks of a Model T, I learned from reading the publications about the Model T from 1915 to 1940.

Thoughts, Are the suggestions from past tech support still good advice?

I found all the editions of Page's writings were written during Model T production and very helpful

I think most are still as valid as they were during the Model T era. But errata and other mistakes are not new. I think Fahnestock's widely circulated spark and throttle lever diagram applies to driving on BAT, not MAG. And I noticed a couple of errors in his "Elizabeth's Hair Pins" article. I've also seen some in-car magneto charge diagrams with an important mistake, but I don't know whether they originated in the T era.

Some is and some isn't! Like using the reverse to stop the car was suggested back in the days when there were T parts stores in almost every town, but not today.

I think the above is important. However the most important book is still the Ford Service book published in 1924.

Definitely yes, if it's from Ford and other reputable sources. The laws of physics haven't changed. I can't think of anything specific that I would completely disagree with from official publications. Perhaps a few minor things, like constantly charging the battery at 10A. And oil changes don't need to be as frequent now.

I started learning about the Model T from old books and experience along the way starting in 1964. After joining the forum I soon learned that everything I knew was wrong. There are certainly more ways to skin a cat and each week I learn something new. However some of the old ways still work mighty good for me.
We are lucky to have new techniques and ways of doing things but have to decide for ourselves how we want to approach lots of it.
Don't get me wrong, all of it is good and has it's place.

I have always wondered, what good is it having a skinned cat? Sounds like a waste of time...

I would say mostly yes. That is not to say we shouldn't consider the context or the standards of the time when they were written.

Then; You should not smoke while filling a tank with gasoline.

Today; You should not smoke AT ALL.

I've seen some very inadequate precautions given regarding draining gasoline tanks on Ts.
