I have had an e mail from a Roland Smith with no details except a poorly written e mail. Does and one know of his gentleman in the T world?

There does not appear to be a member by the name "Roland Smith". A poorly written email (poor English) is usually a scam. While many people create the prefix part of their email address many don't. So if that appears to be a different persons name, as opposed to some kind of nickname IT's a scam.

Also was this email via the forum or other. Copy the email address and post it and I will check it out

I'm of the same thought, thus my query here. I'll send his address to you shortly. Says he's in Dallas Texas.
Thanks for your assistance

Given that the address for a Roland in Dallas says he's been there for 1 year.... and some other bits of information or lack there of - I'd treat it as a scam.

I know a Rolland Smith but he lived in California and has passed away a while back. Please send me the info you have for the one in Texas like email address or phone number and I will try to confirm if they're the same. Rolland Smith was a great guy and a good friend.
Give an old car guy a barn and he won't throw anything away.
