Joe Marker put this in the Post Register 10/23/77. "...a hearse used by undertaker C. C. Hays pictured on Shoup Ave."
Joe was a staff writer and his family had a long history in IF. He was quite the organ plater and gathered much from the town since it's beginning.
I wouldn't have guessed it was a hearse. It is in fact Shoup looking South and East at Broadway. The Destinations Inn is the big building. It was originally the Crow and Changnon Building.

Re: Old Phot Downtown Idaho Fall, ID
It doesn't look like many hearses of that era did. I wonder if it could be a converted paddywagon. (Or a special, secure unit set up for zombie patrol)

The same photo in Joe's book Eagle Rock U. S. A. ( now Idaho Falls, Idaho) describes the 3-story building as "...then housing a chiropractic sanitarium on the upper floors and the State Furniture Store on the ground floor is now the home of the Eagles Lodge. In the background is the Midland Elevators (1962).
No mention of the hearse or the zombies.

Another one Joe posted a lot was this 1915 Touring car. He didn't note who or where it was so he may have picked it up somewhere.

It does show the typical white tires and the brass trim.Rich
