Dipstick

Post by Tony_H » Wed Aug 24, 2022 12:49 am

I got this bronze (?) dipstick in a lot of T stuff I acquired from the estate of an old time Ford mechanic.
It is marked in (presumably) 1/2 gallon increments, up to10"1/2.
It is19 inches long and is stamped above the 10 gallon mark with what appears to be Q then 400-846.... the 8 possibly is 9
If you enlarge the photos you can decide.
The readings don't correspond with my dipsticks for the oval tank in the '25 Dr Coupe, or the cowl tank in the '26 Tourer,
so I'm wondering if it would be for the round tank.
The 1 gallon mark is 1"7/8 inches from the end, the 10 gallon mark 8"7/8 from the end.

If as you say marked as a 10 gallon, that would be a USA T dip stick. British imperial stick would be for around 8 gallons.
