Drive rivets Ruckstell rear name plate

Post by Boss69 » Mon Sep 05, 2022 10:06 am

Trying to install the name plate on my Ruckstell Rear.
Name plate came with solid brass drive rivets.
Holes in the housing seem to small for the rivets.
Any suggestions. Special tool needed ??

Thanks,

Paul

I've run into this before - measure the beginning shank diameter of the new drive rivet & drill the housing out the same. Double check that both holes in the tag will align with the housing. I smear a little black RTV into the hole prior to setting the rivet.

I encountered the same thing on my Ruckstell and did what Steve did, drilled out the holes a bit and installed the vendor supplied rivets with some RTV sealer for insurance.

Those leather belts in the pic are rebound straps. :)

If they aren't a bit bigger, what's going to hold them in?
