The Jelf Report. Day Five

Post by George N Lake Ozark » Wed Sep 07, 2022 8:52 pm

Steve left western Indiana this morning and about two hours out the engine backfired and died, he coasted to a stop wiggled wires, cranked over engine all coils hummed. Called his mechanic/builder in Oklahoma who concluded it was possibly a fuel issue, tapped the carburetor with his spark plug wrench and with one pull of the crank it fired right up. And off he went. Same thing happened one more time, tapped again and off he went. He changed his route since he’s a little behind so he headed straight to Michigan and not through Ohio. He’s spending the night in a Walmart lot to night in Michigan. His mechanic is Mike Bender. He says he expects to be the fest area sometime in the late morning. That’s it for now. George.
Have a great tomorrow.
