He'll never join a Model T club because he says he wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have someone like him as a member. (That's a slight mangling of an actual Groucho quote)

There's only one Groucho Marx! Of the many versions I have read why Julius Marx took the moniker "Groucho", the most interesting one goes back to the vaudeville era. When the FIVE Marx brothers (Yes! Five!) started out in the entertainment world, performers often kept their money in little sacks called "grouch bags" because living a nomadic existence, moving from town to town, vaudevillians rarely had bank accounts to store their money. Julius was the acknowledged business manager for the act and because he was so obsessed about being poor, he wanted to control the money earned by the brother act. The term "Groucho" fit him perfectly. Either the brothers named him "Groucho" or he chose the name himself to match the other brothers' names all likewise ending in "o". Maybe an apocryphal explanation, but it's a much better story than calling him Groucho because he was grumpy by nature. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. 'Doesn't matter. I like the grouch bag version best. :)

I don't think it is Groucho! It's Floyd the barber in Mayberry.
