Planes and Cars at Bob's

Post by Rich Eagle » Sat Oct 15, 2022 4:44 pm

Bob and Jane invited us out to the hangar for a potluck lunch after some short landing practice. Here is the '09 in front of his Beechcraft Staggerwing.

8 cars showed up and the weather was warm enough to enjoy the day.
BobAir2.jpg
I believe this is his Stearman, 1934 International, his 1940 Willys Jeep and Gary's '34 Chevrolet.

Joy is enjoying her coffee before the feast.

Another day to enjoy the car get to-getters before the snow and cold.

Wow !!! Nice Beechcraft - has he ever flown up to the Cawley Field Fly-In in Buckley, WA ? We had one come in a number of years ago - gotta be one of the finest looking planes ever built ! Here's my Racer by my friend's T-6.

Nice photo Steve. They look like they belong together.
I suspect Bob has been to the Cawley Field Fly-In. He goes to a lot of them. His is a '39 and has been in the family for a very long time. He rebuilt it in the 60s with lots of new wood and recovered it.

I didn't ask about the little one in the Back of the International. It is cute.

We have been fortunate with the weather. The mornings are a bit cool. We took the Grandkids to breakfast in the '09 this morning.
Looks like it will hold for a few more days.

That "little" one is a scaled down model of the GEE BEE Sportster ! Google Granville Brothers - (GEE-BEE).

Don’t feel bad Rich; I know people who’ve been flying all their lives and still don’t know…
