Would that be Toupie Lowther under the first truck with her medal she was awarded painted on the canvas side? She was a tennis star during the day and organized an all-women's ambulance corps and was awarded the Croix de Guerre for her service during WWI

I don't think the woman under the first truck was Toupie Lowther. She would have been in her mid 40s at the time.
This photos shows her receiving the Croix de Guerre.
I think the Croix de Guerre went to the unit as a whole and not her as an individual. There are a few other photos that show the symbol on several of their ambulances.
