Halloween Pix
I took the original owner of my '24 Speedster to Home Depot this afternoon. He only gets out one month a year now, but really seemed to enjoy the ride. Second pic is him practicing for our run out of town tomorrow afternoon.

I like it! My neighbors have the original owners in Adirondack chairs & their dog in front of their house drinking wine.

Re: Halloween Pix
The local repair shop sponsored a "trunk or treat" again for the third year in a row. They invite the owners of special interest cars, so it's kind of a car show. They give the kids tickets to leave in a cup with the car they like best. The most popular car wins a trophy. It's well attended, and the kids have a great time. It's not really Lizzie's milieu, but she won the prize last year.

Re: Halloween Pix
Yah, we don't really do anything for Halloween but leave the shredded plastic bags that blow into the shrubbery there.

Re: Halloween Pix
Rich, those actually are the ghosts of unquiet spirits. No question. How do I know this ? Because whenever one encounters them horseback, even the gentlest, well-broke and experienced mount becomes nervous and visibly agitated. In extreme cases, some horses bolt and run off, sometimes losing their rider in the process. Very scary !!

Re: Halloween Pix
Where do you guys get your “original owners”? I went on Amazon about 6 weeks ago and couldn’t find anything posable with decent reviews.

Waiting for trick-or-treaters... with cardboard under the T because it likes to mark it's territory and a battery charger to keep the lights on.
Where is the OBD2 port on this thing?

Re: Halloween Pix
I know this a bit far past Halloween, but I don't get on here much, so I thought I'd add my Hallow's nights worth too.
I park my car out on the driveway every Samhain (Gaelic word and pronounced Sow-Wynn) Halloween and invite everybody who comes by (kids included) the opportunity to sit up there with Mr. Bones and get their picture taken with him, whilst I pass out candy (to everyone including the parents...nobody escapes me) and wish them a Happy New Year. You'd be surprised at how many people stopped their sojourn through the neighborhood to take pictures of their kids and loved ones sitting up there with old Mr. Bones, after all how many times does anybody who doesn't one of these cars get a chance to say they sat in a 100 year old car and here's a picture to prove it (my car turned 100 years old this March).
The real show began when I ran out of candy and was closing up shop for the night. I put Mr. Bones in the back seat, went round and lifted the hood (got lots of oooh's an awww's from a developing crowd that gathered to watch what I was doing). I lifted the hood and turned on the gas, went back round to the switch, put the key in and set the spark and throttle. Went back round to the front and primed the engine (after all she'd been sitting there for most of the night), then went back and turn the key to BAT and almost got a free start, so I thought what the hell, might as well give the crank a pull and give these folks a real show, lol. Went back round to the front (by this time I had a much bigger crowd, which pretty much clogged the street), unhitched the crank (I have one of those slings on the front for the crank handle), pulled the choke bail, and pulled up on the crank.I got lots of applause from the crowd as "th Lady" roared to life, ran back to reset the throttle and spark down to where she was idling nice, then switched to Mag, and she gave off that smooth idling sound, that lets everyone know that This is a real car, not a toy car. Climbed in, got behind the wheel, switched on my headlights, released the hand brake (my wife had to move people out of the way so I could pull out) and drove "th Lady" out of the driveway. Again she had to move people out from behind me as I backed the old girl up so I could pull into the garage. A lot of the parents who stayed to watched me turn the car off and hop out, asked a lot of questions about my car at this point and I think everyone was very surprised that my car actually did drive (I think they thought it was some sort of prop) and of course got a lot of the usual questions, "like how fast does it go", "are they hard to drive", "can you take them onto the freeways", "must be worth lots of money", the usual along with some rather odd ones too, my favorite was "are you the original owner?", that one threw me (and this was an adult asking me this...who was older than I am...I think), all I could think of to say was "ahh, no".
This seemed to be the highlight of everyone's evening, not the candy that I gave away for free wishing them all a Happy New Year, just me parking my car in my garage....strange night, just goes to show, "you're a one man car show wherever you go", even if it just into your homes garage.
