I drove about 60 miles today in 62 F weather. Levis, 2 T shirts, gimme hat. No sun. Borderline comfortable.

Was not a bad write up for a T, what I read of it. Thing that got me was the comment someone posted went straight to saying how much better a Model A was over the T.

I always tell Model A people when they start that crap this.
Know what Model T people say about a Model A, even a girl can drive an A.
That shuts them up each time.
I don’t tell them that my wife can drive aT just as good as me.

I appreciate both the T and the A, and I'd be happy to own examples of every Ford vehicle built from 1903 through 1954. The T was a good deal more revolutionary and and advanced at its introduction than was the A. As for "better", if being a product of a later era means "better", maybe you should order a new car. The T remained a practical choice for many people, especially in rural areas, through WWII. The Model A owed a great deal to the Model T, as did every Ford passenger car built through 1948.

No matter how good the reporter, they always seem to run aground on the shoals of Model T technology.

My wife learned to drive in a Model A. Back in the 1960's we were in the Model A club and she had tried to learn how to drive a 53 Ford with Automatic transmission, and a Volkswagen Beetle. She had a hard time doing so. We went on a tour with the A club and camped out on a dry lake near Edwards Air Force Base. She could drive the A on the lake by starting and stopping it and shifting the gears. We were not on a road so she didn't need to concentrate on steering. Finally when she got used to stopping and starting and shifting gears, she concentrated on steering. Now she was ready to drive on the road and got her first driver's license.
Actually a Model T is easier to learn to drive because you don't need to shift non-syncronized gears but just work the pedals and it is automatically in the gear you choose. I will say however, that the A has better brakes than the T when adjusted correctly.
The T was easy for me to learn to drive. I had never driven one before I bought my first one, but had listened to how my dad and uncles had told me you shift and drove the T. I had pretended the A was a T and used only the hand throttle, while starting out in low and then shifting to high bypassing the intermediate speed. So when I got the T, I just got in and drove it home!

I'd guess that a lot of long-time T drivers had some trouble getting used to their new Model As.
Remember when power brakes first came out? There was a small beauty shop across the street from our house, and you could tell when a Blue Hair Granny had just traded her '50 Chevy for a '62 Impala with PS/PB/PG.
