It appears to be an exhaust cutout

Not real sure from the one photo, but it appears to be a car heater vent from the 30s 40s era. I have one that is similar. Try another photo if you can.

That makes more sense! That's probably why there's two knobbed handles! Wouldn't think an exhaust cutout would use two. Probly a way to distribute the warm air.

If the two pull handles are some sort of hard plastic it would be somthing from the 30’s or 40’s. Thats my opinion and a guess.
