Have you ever noticed that everything, regardless of how simple, tastes better outdoors? Bacon sizzling in a pan, followed by eggs in the grease….slathered by a perfect breeze and the smell of nature.

Thanks for posting Jay.
Our camper trailer restoration is well underway.
From this I see that I will need to wear my white shirt
and tie when we take the restored 20's trailer out to
the mountains!

Re: OLd PHOTO - 1920's CAMPER TRAILER ON A OUTING
I have often wondered why people in those days used to dress up like that? Maybe it was because film for taking pictures cost a lot and also cost to print and develop, so they almost always dressed up for pictures. See one of two of my uncles hiking on a trail about 5 miles from the nearest road. Another of my grandfather lifting a large rock wearing neck ties!

A tie is handy for dipping taste samples out of cook pots. They can also be taken off and used to swat flies.

Re: OLd PHOTO - 1920's CAMPER TRAILER ON A OUTING
My grandfather, born in the late 1800's was a tailor by trade and ALWAYS wore a dress shirt and tie. I remember him when we would go fishing in the 1940's and 50's wearing his dress clothes even then. He would take his suitcoat off on warm days. Great guy! When I was small he would rent a horse and sleigh on a Sunday and take me for a sleighride. Later, it was to movies or bowling on a Saturday. His favorite movies were the ones featuring "Cowboys and Chubunk-a-Bunks", not PC but seemed appropriate at the time. I remember one day he surprised me by getting on my Pinto, pulling back on the reins to get the horse up on his hind legs, shouting "Hi Ho Silver", and galloping away. I don't know who was more surprised, me my Dad or the horse! All these thing happened while he had on his dress shirt and tie. Sorry for the ramble but it's hard to shut off the memories once the start.

I suspect they either had another camper nearby or a tent.

Here is a picture of my grandfather in about 1928 at Lake Arrowhead. The Model T is in the picture and notice how he was dressed? I have the tent in the loft of my garage!
