1920 front wheel outer bearing race removal

Post by Chris Haynes » Wed Apr 12, 2023 12:50 am

I have worn out my drift punches and three hammers trying to get this race out. It hasn't budged. I know it has only been in there for 101 years but this is frustrating.

Run a weld bead around the inner bearing surface of the race and it will shrink and fall out.

I agree with Mark. I did this job rust yesterday on an old wheel hub that I cleaned up for a spare. Will get new races & bearings & seal and have a spare for myself or someone else.
