30 x 3 tires and tubes
Being a Canadian I’ve never needed a pair of these before!
Looking for suggestions/recommendations on a good place to buy a pair of these!

Cheapest but not best are Wards Riversides from Lucas. Better (longer lasting) but with costlier shipping from Britain are Blockleys. I'm going with the latter.

Definitely Blockley. In the US they arrive within a week with no import/custom hassles. Well worth the few extra dollars.

Keep in mind with Blockley's I believe per Steve Jelf's experience it's best to only order 2 at a time...he may chime in here if I'm wrong or has more details.

Re: 30 x 3 tires and tubes
I'd expect that Canada/UK have entirely different import/duty structure than US/UK. Splitting and doubling shipping costs may not at all be a savings regarding import fees...in any event, I'll bet that Les is only looking for two tires, not 4!
He's a pretty smart guy and will figure it out, I'll bet
So, Les, what is this new machine?

I'm doing that to keep the cost below the import tax threshold. But I don't know Canada's import rules. Les is after only two anyway.

Importing Tires into Canada from the Internet Tax is on where the products are made not where they are shipped from
The following regulations https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publication ... 2-eng.html
Here is one of them -
3. The requirements outlined in Appendix A apply only to businesses that import tires for resale. When importing tires for personal or corporate fleet use, the only requirement is that the tires must meet Canadian, United States (US) or Japanese safety standards and are marked with one of the symbols outlined in Appendix B.

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

I’m not really sure. I have 3 wheels of this set and have now acquired the 4th. Figured I should try and get the “unusual” tires and then the set becomes more useful!!

I assume a few U.S. cars have made their way to Canada?

Re: 30 x 3 tires and tubes
Good question! DId Canada allow the importation of U.S. built Model T's? Or was the tariff structure so restrictive that it would have been preferable to buy a Canadian-produced Model T?

Re: 30 x 3 tires and tubes
Yep, Canada did allow the importation of U.S. built Model T's during the early 20th century. Howeverrr, the tariff structure at the time could be quite restrictive, making it sometimes more preferable to buy a Canadian-produced Model T. But it really depended on the specific circumstances, including the tariffs and availability of Canadian-made Model T's, that influenced the buying decisions of Canadians at that time...
Were you considering buying a Model T back then or just curious?

Jennny, I believe Original Larry was considering buying a Model T back then.
