Copper top versus regular coils

Post by Dennis_Brown » Sun Apr 23, 2023 9:41 pm

After changing capacitors is there any difference in output or operation between regular wood coils and copper top coils?

Copper top coils are really brass with slightly more copper in the mixture, that’s why they have a reddish hue, to make the brass. Should be no difference 1.3 to 1.4

The brass top coils are about the same as the wood top coils. A brass top coil might hold point alignment and point gap settings better than the wood top coils.
