Help on wiring please.

Post by jaybee47 » Fri May 12, 2023 5:50 pm

Does anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram for a 12 volt system having an alternator, distributor, starter, coil, lighting, etc.?
It is a mutt 1911 Model T Runabout. The previous owner had installed the alternator, starter, lights, distributor and coil...all 12 volts...but no wiring...this is what I need help on. Am not good at electrical wiring on the fly without seeing a diagram compatible with this setup. I need a visual guide.

NOTE Not all ignition coils require a ballast resistor. You need to check its instructions

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

One more note. When on 12 volts, the ignition coil will need a ballast resistor in series with the supply voltage. Some 12 volt coils have this built in some do not. Check your coil, hopefully its marked. If you need a ballast resistor look for Napa part number ECH ICR12 --$7.69. I have also used this same resistor to run a 6 volt horn on 12 volts.
